Dr. Todd Broder

Dr. Todd Broder

Physician

Dr. Broder received his undergraduate degree from Florida Atlantic University before attending medical school at the University of Florida. During his residency, the University of Florida became one of the first institutions in the nation to purchase a Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) machine where he was first trained on the use of the equipment for the treatment of Major Depressive Disorder.

Once he completed residency in 2009, Dr. Broder came to Flagler Hospital where he has ultimately partnered with Dr. Luing as co-Medical Director of the hospital’s mental health department. In 2018, he and Dr. Luing opened the Florida Center for TMS with the hope to help those with treatment resistant depression by specialty treatment methods, while they continue to advance the science of psychiatry.

Dr. Heather Luing

Dr. Heather Luing

Physician

Dr. Luing attended Florida Atlantic University where she earned a bachelor’s degree in microbiology and then attended medical school at University of Florida. There she discovered her passion for mental and behavioral health. She remained in Gainesville for residency and spent her extra electives learning about the use of neuromodulation techniques like Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS).

Beginning her career in a community mental health center in nearby Ocala, Dr. Luing had the opportunity to make changes to community mental health policy. In early 2016, she joined Dr. Broder at Flagler Hospital where they now work together as co-Medical Directors to manage the hospital’s mental health department.

Dr. Luing felt the community was in need of an intensive speciality treatment to address severe depression in a safe, effective way. She opened the Florida Center for TMS with Dr. Broder as a way to address this need. She is excited to offer compassionate care using advanced psychiatric treatments such as TMS.
